Digital Strategist Berkeley, CA

Do you love working with people to solve complicated challenges? Are you passionate about progressive politics? Do you have experience managing a team and wrangling partners to achieve big results?

If so, come join us at Trilogy. We manage digital marketing programs for progressive political campaigns, organizations, and non-profits that are reshaping the industry -- and the world.

Digital Strategists are responsible for developing clean, compelling copy for a variety of mediums, while owning the strategic planning and scheduling for projects.

  • Oversee content development -- including email, advertising, social media, and multimedia content -- production, reporting, and optimization of clients' campaign plans. Provide final internal approval for all client deliverables
  • Draft concise, engaging content for email campaigns, social media, advertising, and client memos on short deadlines
  • Own client relationships and communications including working through approval processes, leadership on calls, maintaining content calendars
  • Research and be aware of the larger political climate and each client's particular message, pain points, and political concerns/constraints
  • Participate in creative brainstorming and provide feedback to designers and project leads on newly-developed creative elements, including ads and landing pages
  • Assist in promoting the Trilogy brand and record for thought leadership by writing occasional social copy, case studies, white papers, and assist on proposals and other business development materials as needed

Ideal candidates will be college graduates with 2-4 years of professional political, governmental, or nonprofit experience who are passionate about digital advocacy and marketing.

People with all types of experiences, backgrounds, and interests can excel at this position. But the following traits are common among successful strategists:

  • You love to write: You have demonstrated experience and skill in high-volume writing roles for campaigns or nonprofits
  • You've got a political gut: Clients trust you because they know you get it -- the politics, the context, the positions, and the issues that drive them
  • You are organized: You find pleasure in guiding multiple people through dozens of tasks and assignments at once without ever missing a beat, and enjoy developing systems to ensure that nothing falls through the cracks
  • You love building relationships: Your communications in person or by phone and email aren't just about the next task, but also about growing a longterm rapport with clients, partners, and fellow team members
  • You are curious: What's the newest digital organizing trend? How can we use today's news in our work? What's going on in a client's community?
