Digital Marketing Strategist Berkeley, CA / Washington, D.C.

Trilogy is looking for a Digital Marketing Strategist to join us in Washington, DC or Berkeley, CA to help us develop creative for smart, aggressive campaigns that help our clients reach -- and exceed -- their goals.


Digital Strategists are responsible for developing clean, compelling copy for a variety of mediums, while owning the strategic planning and scheduling for projects.

  • Draft concise, engaging content for email campaigns, social media, advertising, and client memos on short deadlines
  • Research and be aware of the larger political climate and each client’s particular message, pain points, and political concerns/constraints
  • Provide strategic direction and manage the digital marketing calendar on project assignments
  • Research statistical performance on campaigns and provide recommendations based on data
  • Participate in creative brainstorming and provide feedback to designers and project leads on newly-developed creative elements, including ads and landing pages
  • Explore new technology and strategic resources to find innovative ways to help our clients reach their goals
  • Ensure that client website content remains engaging, driving site visitors to perform high-value actions for the campaign
  • Assist in promoting the Trilogy brand and record for thought leadership by writing occasional social copy, case studies, white papers, and assist on proposals and other business development materials as needed


Ideal candidates will be college graduates with professional political, nonprofit, or digital agency experience who are passionate about digital marketing and committed to making a difference for our clients. Strong communications skills are a must.

You'll be expected to understand the basics of direct response marketing copywriting and to deliver superior results.

Familiarity with the following is helpful -- but having a demonstrated skill in high-volume writing is absolutely essential.

  • Campaign, non-profit, or agency experience
  • Direct experience with advocacy and/or fundraising email copywriting
  • Experience writing for multiple "voices"
  • Be a strategic thinker with a keen awareness of the larger political climate 
  • Familiarity with Photoshop or another image editing program
  • Branding experience
  • Experience with digital advertising 
  • Social science survey and test design and interpretation
  • Strong knowledge of the general political landscape and current political events
  • Desire to be an agent of positive change for your community
