Defeating Big Pharma and Lowering Drug Prices

Patients for Affordable Drugs Now turned to Trilogy to deliver a high-volume, high-impact legislative advocacy campaign to allow Medicare to negotiate lower drug prices. Over two presidencies and three Congresses, we drove more than 70,000 advocacy actions and ensured 136 legislators received tailored messages from their constituents.

Big Pharma spent over $50 million trying to stop us, but in 2022, we won a historic victory with the Inflation Reduction Act — all while centering patients and cementing our client’s reputation as the premier organization fighting for lower drug prices.

Pressuring Corporations To Protect The Arctic Refuge

After Trump opened the Arctic Refuge to destructive fossil fuel drilling, the Indigenous-led Arctic Refuge Defense Campaign enlisted Trilogy to help protect their sacred land with a grassroots advocacy and corporate accountability program.

We built the ARDC’s brand identity and digital infrastructure — including a logo, website, and social media presence — in a matter of weeks. From there, we targeted banking, insurance, and fossil fuel executives with petitions, geofenced digital ads, and website takeovers. Our goal? To turn the prospect of drilling in the Arctic Refuge into a PR nightmare.

Our relentless drumbeat of digital content and lightning-fast rapid-response campaigns prompted 17 international insurers and 29 global banks — including every major bank in the U.S. and Canada — to rule out financing any drilling in the Arctic Refuge.

Persuading Republican Legislators to Protect Contraception

As extreme Republicans began putting forth bills restricting access to birth control, Americans for Contraception partnered with Trilogy to inform and mobilize voters to stop the threat. In Nevada, we had a specific challenge: The Democratic legislature was poised to pass a bill to codify the right to contraception, but the Republican governor said he would only sign it if it received bipartisan support.

We built an owned and paid media program to inspire key Republican legislators to support the bill. In addition to social media, email, ads, and influencer content, we executed a targeted texting campaign to reach specific demographics of voters — people we knew would be likely to support the bill if they knew about it — within small state senate districts. All told, we drove 481 letters to two moderate, Republican state senators, including the Senate Minority Leader, in just two weeks. Both senators ultimately voted in favor of the Nevada Right to Contraception Act.
